More Great Food & Shopping Downtown This Summer

DOWNTOWN MADISON, WI – After two successful seasons, Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce the return of the Madison Night Market for 2019!

Madison is famous for great shopping, amazing food and a talented art scene and now these three community assets come together for a unique urban experience. The 3rd Annual Madison Night Market is a celebration of Madison’s unique and inspiring creative culture. Vendors showcase handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, prepackaged foods and fresh produce. The event includes live music, special visiting food carts and pop-up restaurant experiences.

Held the 2nd Thursday of the month, more than 5,000 attendees made it out to each of the 4 markets last year. The dates for 2019 are May 9, June 13, August 8 and September 12.

BID Executive Director Tiffany Kenney explained the project is designed to bring people downtown, “We are thrilled to welcome everyone downtown to celebrate our City. As we had hoped, many of the downtown retail stores are staying open later, offering a full shopping experience. Downtown restaurants will again have special offers and we anticipate staying strong at around 100 unique vendors on Gilman Street.”

The Market is presented by the BID in partnership with the City of Madison. Businesses within the Central District are again encouraged to participate at the Night Market or in their own place of business with a special event or attraction that evening like a trunk show, sample sale, visiting artist, etc. A monthly print guide and a website will cross promote these specials.

The Market, located along Gilman Street in the heart of downtown Madison will be held the second Thursday of the months of May, June and August, September in 2019. Hours for 2019 are 6pm – 10pm. Visitors and residents are invited to come celebrate all things Madison.
