YOUR design could help launch the NEW Madison Night Market!

Madison’s Central Business Improvement District is reaching out to Madison’s creative community in a Public Call for Art to design the LOGO for the new Market!

The Market is a celebration of Madison’s unique and inspiring creative culture. The Market, located along Gilman Street in the heart of downtown Madison, will be held the second Thursday of the months of May, June and July in 2017 from 6pm – 11pm. A curated selection of 40 – 60 vendors will showcase handmade products, local art, artisan gifts, prepackaged foods and fresh produce. The event includes live music, giant board games, special visiting food carts and pop-up restaurant experiences.

The winning logo design should capture the unique spirit of Downtown Madison, a celebration of artisan craftsmanship, and the cool vibe of an outdoor night market. There are no requirements for colors or logo shapes, however the design must be creative and original.

The top 10 artists will receive a $20 Downtown Madison Gift Certificate for their submission.

Entries will be judged by our Market committee; a group of downtown professionals including BID and City of Madison staff, and downtown Madison business owners. The final decision may be voted on via social media.

The contest is open to professional and amateur designers. The winning design and artist will be award a $500 prize as well as bragging rights!

 LOGO REQUIREMENTS 

  • Logo design should include the words: Madison Night Market, MNM or #MNM
  • All designs must be original
  • Preferred file types: EPS File or PDF
  • The files must be supplied in both BW and 4-color
  • All fonts should be converted into Outlines
  • The files should be high resolution of at least 300 dpi
  • Logo design should be adaptable to all forms of branding, including print, web, cloth transfer and more!

LOGO CONTEST TIMELINE

  • Deadline for submission is 11:59pm on April 7, 2017
  • Winner will be publicly announced April 14, 2017
